The School of Laboratory Medicine of Zunyi Medical College recruited junior college students in 1988, undergraduates in 1999. It was officially established in 2005 (it has one office, one laboratory, and three teaching and research rooms) and the college course is five years. In 2011, it became the master of diagnostics for clinical examination; in 2012, it became a special construction sites of higher education of Guizhou province; in July of this year, it was awarded the college -level experimental teaching demonstration center of Zunyi Medical College. In 2014, we declared the demonstration center of clinical laboratory teaching in Guizhou province. The department of laboratory medicine of affiliated hospital was officially recognized by the ISO 15189 laboratory in May 2014, and in June 2015, it formally passed the ISO 15189 supervision review and revision work.In April 2015, the key subject of the affiliated hospital was approved, which was also approved by Zunyi Medical College in August.

The development of School of Laboratory Medicine has gone through three stages:

1. Stage of Entrepreneurship (1952-2005)

The history of School ofLaboratory Medicine can be traced back to the early days of New China. Not long after national liberation in 1952, to adapt to the needs of the war to resist US aggression and aid Korea and to be commissioned by the central military commission, Dalian Medical College undertakes the first test training course of laboratory medicine in China. Though the laboratory is established for students to use, most of the experimental teaching is mainly attached to the equipment of the affiliated hospital of Dalian Medical College. The laboratory medicine major gradually accumulates clinical, teaching, scientific research into a whole school mode (Department family one model).

To adapt to the overall development of medical and health services, the ministry of health of the central people's government commissioned Dalian Medical College to undertake thelaboratory medicine major of the first tertiary education in China in 1953. In the same year, it was responsible for the first technical secondary school of Liaoning province. In 1956, Dalian Medical College was approved by the Liaoning education department and the department of health to set up a health school affiliated to Dalian Medical College, containing the class of laboratory medicine major. After moving to Zunyi city in 1969, approved by the education department of Guizhou province and the department of health of the affiliated hospital of Zunyi Medical College, and in 1975 and 1981, two inspection students were enrolled. The laboratory medicine majoro of Zunyi Medical College began to recruit major students in 1988, beginning to enroll students in medical examinations in 1999 (5 years) after more than 10 years of development and education conditions gradually mature. The School of Laboratory Medicine was formally established in 2005.

2. Stage of Reform and Development (2005-2012)

The School of Laboratory Medicine was formally established in 2005, which is developing into a fast track. According to statistics, as of the end of 2005, there was only one professor inthe School of Laboratory Medicine, and none of the lecturers were master and above. In 2007, after Zunyi Medical School successfully passed the undergraduate teaching work level assessment, the talent introduction and training into the fast development track of the School of Laboratory Medicine, successively flexible introduction of migratory talent one person, special scientific adviser one person (both are domestic well-known expert, doctoral supervisor), introduced and trained full-time doctoral eight persons (one PhD student), part-time PhD six persons and 29 master's degree. Currently, there are more than 10 part-time master supervisors. 9 professors, 25 associate professors and nearly 30 lecturers, and a team with reasonable structure, younger and higher education have successfully established.

In the past three years, there were one of the National High Technology Research and Development Plan (863 project) sub-project funding project, five of the National Natural Science Foundation Grants Program, 2 projects of social development science and technology of Guizhou province, more than 20 provincial level projects. Editor-in-chief of national teaching materials 1, chief editor of the academic department 2, the participation in the human health edition inspection of the textbook 3 departments. The second prize of the national excellent medical teaching materials, the first prize of the higher education teaching achievement award in Guizhou province, the third prize of the provincial science and technology progress award, and the science and technology progress award of the provincial department were obtained. As the first author, who published more than 10 papers indexed by SCI and more than 50 core journal articles. Undertaking the theoretical and experimental teaching task of laboratory medicine (more than 2600 hours), and the annual recruitment of clinical test professional standardized training of more than 10 students. There are nearly 60 interns from the department of inspection each year. There are more than 10 postgraduate students per year, and about 20 people per year in various places have completed all kinds of teaching tasks.

3. Deepening Stage of Reform (2012~)

ISO 15189 is named as<medical laboratory - special requirements for quality and capacity>, it is an effective means to instruct the medical laboratory to standardize the quality management and improve the work ideas of the medical laboratory. The laboratory medicine major of teh first clinical college work hard on constructing clinical immunology laboratory test subjects, clinical biochemistry laboratory, clinical microbiology laboratory based laboratory, clinical laboratory of molecular biology, clinical examination, clinical hematology laboratory and clinical blood transfusion laboratory seven clinical experimental platform.

Those who meet the requirements of the Bachelor Degree Program will be award Bachelor's Degree of Medicine. Department of Laboratory Medicine admit students all over China, the current student population is 328. Department of Laboratory Medicine has nurtured over 600 professional talents.
